Vulcano, in the Aeolian Archipelago, is a volcanic island with strong secondary volcanism phenomena.
In 2025 and 2026 I joined Giovannelli Lab researchers from the University of Naples Federico II, to document their fieldwork.
During those days, I also joined researchers from the University of Palermo on the volcanic ridge, where the degassing phenomena is at its strongest, while they sampled gaseous emissions to collect data on CO₂, H₂S and SO₂ levels, and INGV researchers as they collected gas samples underwater.
